Yes, Marina's intreest in the IPConfigs is seconded by me.
I suspect our old friend EDNS0 is involved, and that the 'XP nodes' may be
using other than the SBS for DNS.

Had to format my SBS2003 server and re-install the software. It isconnected
over LAN to a LINUX node which is acting as a firewall machine for me for
the internet. Previous to formatting it was possible to browse microsoft
sites but since re-installing SBS 2003, it is not possible to browse
Microsoft sites including hotmail, though all the other websites are
being
accessed. These sites are opening on the Windows XP nodes.
Shall be obliged if someone can guide as how to enable browsing of the
microsoft sites on the SBS 2003 server.
