locally you can get there http://companyweb without a login on the lan but
over a WAN http://fqdn:444 but a login is required. you don't need a VPN
for companyweb or RWW, just the shared folders.

Hi. I'm pretty new to SBS and am setting up a small network for several
users, all of whom (except me) are remote. So far, they can connect via
VPN, remote desktop to the server when needed, and map shared folders.
Now, I'm trying to set up an intranet site with Sharepoint. I can get
to it when on the box (directly or of course when signed in over remote
desktop). However, I can't seem to figure out how to make it available
via a user's local browser.
I'm assuming it should be accessed at http://servername/companyweb, but
that prompts for id/pw and a valid windows account id/pw (even admin)
leads to a 403 error. Once time I got in at http://servername:444, but
then read some stuff and started messing with permissions, and of
course now that doesn't work either.
Can someone help me understand how permissions should be configured in
such an environment to allow VPN users to access "companyweb?"
Thanks! -bill
