Re: CEICW ERRORS WHEN RUN

Yes I used the Wizard to change the ip address. I don't understand what you
are saying about the WINS being misconfigured? How do I go about fixing it?
When I pull up the wins MMC I see SBS server name
(libertyrs-main[192.168.16.2]), underneath are "Active Registrations" with no
entries in the right hand pane, then "Replication Parteners" again with no
entries in the right pane. I have one small question can you recommend some
literature or online learning courses that can help me understand SBS better.
Can't be to expensive I don't have a lot of money and the company doesn't
like to spend money on training. Thanks for all the help that you folks give
to use out here.

you don't appear to have WINS enabled on the internal NIC and it is
incorrectly bound on the External, no biggie but it indicates
misconfiguration. Fix this, then go into the WINS console and delete all
records, restart.

When you changed the internal address range, you used the wiz, right?

CEICW since I could get in nad I am not changing anything else right now.

it certainly may be worth trying removal of ISA, restart, re-instal,
though
in general I wouldn't expect this to be necessary.

Before you do, what's a brief rundown of your other problems? Also, the
output from 'IPConfig /all' for the SBS might be handy. How are you
connected to internet?

After you click on the finish button and the progress screen comes up
stating
that it is configuring the email, then the firewall and so on it places
a
red
"X" beside the firewall configuration and says the it could not
configure
the
firewall that there were errors then asks if you want to procees? and I
answer yes. it is the firewall configuration that it fails on everytime
I
run
it. Do I need to re install ISA AGAIN?

I have 23 rules in ISA, including the default deny and a couple of

correct.

In what way does the wiz error?

I really need some help here. I am having nothing but trouble with
SBS2k4
and
it is driving me crazy. I rerun CEICW by instructin from folks who
are
helping with differnet posts on RWW connection problems. Each time I
rerun
it
I keep getting errors when it gets to the firewall configuration
part
after
you click the finish button. ISA server managment console is NOT
open
at
the
time. What my be wrong?

Also when I reinstalled ISA2k4 about 3 weeks ago and ran CEICW It
set
up
about 24 rules dealing with Share point Services Publishing rule,
FTP
server
access rule, FTP outbound access rule, RDP rules, PPTP rules, smtp
rule,
NNTP, POP3, Localhost DHCPand so on. Question are all these required
and
should any new rules be put in front of these?
