Hi,
Thanks for posting here.
From your post, I understand that you want to know the easy and safe methodto upgrade the Default Web Site to 6.0.2.6568. if I am off base, please
feel free to let me know.
First at all, we don't recommend you create the new Default Web Site in
Windows SBS 2003, its may occur the some unknown problem.
Based on my research, you can check the following key for the detailed WSS
version number:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extensions\6.0\
In the right panel, you will see 'Version' value. The version numbers are
listed as following:
6.0.2.5530 is the version number of the virtual server in the original
release version of Windows SharePoint Services.
6.0.2.6361 is the version number of the virtual server in Windows
SharePoint Services Service Pack 1 (SP1).
6.0.2.6411 is the version number of the virtual server in Windows
SharePoint Services that has the security update installed that is
described in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
MS05-006:
Vulnerability in Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=887981
6.0.2.6568 is the version number of the virtual server in Windows
SharePoint Services Service Pack 2 (SP2).
It's recommended to update your server to Windows SharePoint Services
Service Pack 2 (SP2). Please visit the following link for more information:

However, the WSS upgrade is more specific to SBS server, so I'd like you to
re-post the question in the <microsoft.public.sharepoint> newsgroup for
further assistance. The <microsoft.public.sharepoint> newsgroup is
primarily for issues involving Windows Sharepoint server issue. The reason
why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified
pool of respondents, and other customer who read the newsgroups regularly
can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
I hope the above information helps.
Best Regards,
Steven Zhu
