Hi Ripley,
Try this possible resolution first:
Open the Server Management Console.
Select "Security Groups".
Find the "Internet Users" security group and double-click it.
Modify the "Pre-Windows 2000 name" to be: "SBS Internet Users".
Rerun CEICW.
If that doesn't help, it could be a nic or nic driver issue (Intel nic on
MB?)
What nics do you have in the box, perhaps try either switching drivers or
even nics.

Les,
Thanks for your reply. I re-ran the wizard and made a change this time.
However, I still got the same error at the end.
Upon checking the icwlog.txt I can see the same recurrring errors
appearing
whenever the wizard is being run. I will have a search on the internet
myself
obviously, but I have listed them below also just in casr anything seems
obvious to you as to what the issue may be. Hope you can help further.

Hi Ripley,
Try not selecting 'no changes'. This doesn't nessicarily make changes,
but
it does allow you to see and confirm the settings. Any changes that *are*
made as a result of running CEICW will be for your own good. So you
should
ensure the CEICW runs without errors, that's simply good practice.
Regardless, if some users can access the resource without issue, but one
cannot - then that points to a user account problem that likely isn't
going
to be changed by running the CEICW.
The Add User Wizard is a different wizard than CEICW. Create a new
temporary-test user, and if the Add User Wizard fails, then please post
the
exact error and/or browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small
Business Server\Support and open the add_user_wizard.log file in notepad,
and copy and paste the last run in a reply.
Note also that the icwlog.txt is located in this same folder - if you
continue to have issues with CEICW then delete the file, run CEICW again,
and post the contents of the log file in a reply. Or, if you prefer to
help
yourself - find the error message lines in the logfiles and do a google
search of this newsgroup to find possible solutions.

Wonder if anyone can help with this ...
I have SBS 2003 Premium Edition with ISA 2004 installed. The server has
2
NIC's (1 used for broadband access through a router, the other for the
LAN).
I was looking at a problem whereby a certain user could not access our
companyweb; he was getting error 401.1 telling him his credentials were
wrong
and was being prompted for his username and password. Even when he
entered
these details in, he still could not get access.
I'd had a similar problem to this a while back and tried removing the
user
from the companyweb Site Settings etc, but to no avail. I then found a
document advising me to check that the wizards worked ok in the Server
Management Console. I hadn't ran these for a while, so never thought to
check
these.
However, I found that when I clicked on Add New User I got an error. I
read
up on this error, reinstalled the Administration component and this is
now
fine. I still though cannot run the CEICW. I have found in the past
(and
been
advised) that running this wizard can solve a few minor issues. But
each
time
I try to run it (choosing to NOT make any changes) I get a pop up box
headed
"Internet Connection Configuration Status" which tells me "An error
occurred
while configuring a component". The only option I have is the OK
button. I
press that and the wizard ends.
Whether the wizard is actually running or not, I don't know. I have
searched
around the internet for answers on this and the only one I can find is
KB875421. I have checked this and my DND is already set to
Active-Diretory
Integrated though.
Apologies for the long question, but I wanted to try to give as much
info
as
possible. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Any help would be
appreciated. I would like to switch from POP3 to SMTP shortly and I
know
that
as part of this process I would have to run the CEICW .... so this will
be
a
problem.
