Steven,

Yes, I'm using Wireless PCI Adapter in each workstations to connect to
server through 3COM AP. Please be noted that the 3COM AP doesn't have DHCP
server function.

I'm using ISA Server 2004 in Win SBS 2003, maybe it's something to do with
DHCP Server service?

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for posting here.

From your post, I understand that you want to know how to use dynamic IP
address in a Wireless LAN environment. If I am off base, please feel free
to let me know.

Unfortunately, based on the information I have now, I am still a little
unclear about the exact nature of this issue. Therefore, there are two
possible scenarios in this case:

1. If the client's PCI adapter is LAN Area Connection, and this Network
card cannot automatically obtain an IP address from Windows SBS 2003 DHCP
server, then it is not caused by 3COM AP. Its may caused by Windows SBS
2003 DHCP server.

2. If the client's PCI adapter is Wireless Network Connection, and you find
this Network card cannot automatically obtain an IP address from Windows
SBS 2003 DHCP server, then its may caused by 3COM AP. Actually, when the
client's Wireless Network Connection connect to 3COM AP, the 3COM AP will
use DHCP Relay function to assign IP address from Windows SBS 2003 DHCP
server to the wireless workstation. Therefore, this issue in your post may
be caused by 3COM AP or Windows SBS 2003 DHCP or others.

Please let me know the above information so that I can provide further
assistance on this issue. I am looking forward to your reply.

Have a nice day.

Best Regards,

Steven Zhu
