RE: Repairing SharePoint Services

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I suddenly got real busy with a server crash and some new client installs.
I'll have to revisit this issue when I have more time.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

I understand that SharePoint Service does not work on your several SBS
Server. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.

In order to supplement your description, I need your help to gather the
following information:

1. When did the issue occur? Did you make any change or install any
updates/software like Net Framework 2.0 recently?

2. Have you applied SBS 2K3 SP1? Is it standard or Premium edition?

3. Can you access companyweb on the SBS Server Console (http://companyweb)?

4. If step 2 fails, please open IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
-> Uncheck the box "Show friendly HTTP error messages". Close IE and open
IE again. Reproduce the issue, type the full content of the error message
word by word to the Newsgroup for accurate research.

5. Just to double confirm, on the SBS Server Console, can you access RWW
(https://localhost/remote) and OWA (https://localhost/exchange)? What are
the error messages, please?

6. You mentioned "Rerunning SBS install doesn't seem to help", please fully
describe:

a. Where you rerun the SBS install. Is it the Microsoft Windows Small
Business Server Setup in Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Change
or Remove Programs?
b. What components you have reinstalled, please?

7. At this stage, I strongly suggest that you rerun the Configure E-mail
and Internet Connection Wizard and see how it goes:

2003

Please take your time to gather the information for troubleshooting. I am
looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee

I have a couple of SBS installations where SharePoint Services has become
nonfunctional. Rerunning SBS install doesn't seem to help. Can anyone
point
me to a good recource to aid in repairing this?
