I have a SBS 2003 and two XP Professional workstations. One is an IBM
Thinkpad with one user and the offline folders work fine. The other
is a Sony Vaio with two user profiles. Both laptops have the same
offline folders. Both laptops were completely synchronized. I know
this because it took about an hour to synchronize. I logged on and
off a few times to be sure that the synchronization completed. When
you log on now, it runs through all the files but it only takes about
30 seconds. The offline folder size is approximately 10gb. On the
Sony laptop you can access any file while online. When you go
off-line you can see the file directories and the list of files, but
when you try to open the files (Word, Excel, PDF, etc) it says
they're not available. Any ideas?
Event logs give you any clues? What SP on the clients?
Re the 'two user profiles' - note that these two users may end up seeing
each others' stuff.
I personally hate offline files and prefer the inexpensive, simple
SecondCopy at www.centered.com.... my personal bias, tho.
