Re: ISA 2004 fails - starts to block HTTPS for no reason.....

$$ depend on what country your in.

Yes they are that cheap compared to the server outlay but after extracting
thousands of dollars to set up the server they don't want to part with a few
hundred more. After all they were told that the stupid thing did everything
:-)

I think you meant "On ISA the design assumption is that you WILL have a
static connection."
PPPOE can have a static address on SBS 2003.

They can't afford a $20 Linksys router after they spent how much on the
server and are running premium? Come on how cheap are these clients?

On ISA the design assumption is that you won't have a static connection.

Sorry, different issue. You choose no to use it but it works if you do.
PPPOE is an advertised feature that doesn't work as advertised i.e. it
has technical problems.

I don't know that I call it swept under the rug. Microsoft says
you can host a Website on your SBS, and yes you can. Should you? Not
for any of my clients. I'm not going to expose them to that risk.

Maybe Microsoft should fix it then instead of sweeping it
under the rug. It may seem like a small thing but for small
business every $ counts.

MS may support it, but SBS hasn't liked it since day 1.
It almost "never" hiccups with a router doing the PPPoE

Susan was having a 'blonde moment'. Yes, MS 'support'
the use of Windows
PPPoE client on SBS servers.

I'm glad they do, 'coz I won't have anything to do
with it.

;-)

BTW G'day Ray.
