Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
Have you installed Open Manage Server Administrator? That will give you a
lot better insight into the health of the sata system than the event logs
(well, I have scsi but I assume it will).
When the server hangs, is there anything in common, or is it seemingly
completely random? Power and cooling issues are usual suspects for this.
And what AV are you running?

Hi,
I have a client with a Dell Server (dual 2.GHz, 1GB RAM, SATA RAID 1) that
has hung 3 times in the last week. In the hung state, I can ping the
server and telnet to port 25, but RWW doesn't work and users can't log on
or access shares. There is nothing in the event logs to indicate what has
happened.
Has anyone got some insight into this at all? I suspect the disk subsystem
is locking up, but I am not sure how to fix it.
