Hello Borisimo,
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
I am sorry for the delayed response due to the weekend. Please understand
that the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals
to answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!
I understand that you want to implement:
a. Reconnect VPN when the connection drops.
b. After reconnect VPN, remap the drives.
If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
============
Please take your time to read through my reply and suggestions:
Reconnect VPN when the connection drops:
1. On the remote client workstation, double click Network Connections.
2. Double click the Virtual Private Network you have set up.
3. In the diagram box, click Properties button.
4. On the Options tab, tick the Redial if line is dropped box.
5. You also can configure the other parameters in Redialing Options.
6. Click OK.
7. Test the issue again.
After reconnect VPN, remap the drives.
We can use the tool named Connection Manager Administration Kit which can
customize the VPN connection. By using the CMAK, you can specify the script
to run after or before the VPN connection is setup.
I suggest that we use CMAK to specify a post-connection action that runs a
script to map the drive. When mapping the drive, add the parameter /p:n
To do this start the CMAK admin program and use the build-in wizard to
create a new profile. During this process you will be asked if you want to
run pre-connection and/or post-connection actions. Specify that you want to
perform post-connection actions. Then create the script to run as a
post-connection script within the CMAK profile. Once the profile is built,
install it on client systems for use. When you connect to the network
(using the newly installed CMAK profile), the post-connection scripts will
run.

Hello,
A client of mine is having issues with his pptp connection to SBS2003 when
his WWAN (Verizon) portable network card loses the internet connection the
pptp connection drops and subsequently his mapped drives drop. Is there a
way to get the pptp connection to reconnect when internet access is
re-established and is there a way to automatically connect the mapped
when the connection to the network is renewed?
