Re: Errors during SBS 2003 SP1 Installation

Hello SuperG,

Thanks a lot for your great input!

Yes, in SBS 2K3 Server, we do not support install Program Files on a
different drive, but leave WINDOWS on C drive. Program Files must locate at
the same drive with WINDOWS.

Thanks again for your further clarification!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee

I think here's where you went wrong, the regedit of the 'Program Files'
dir.
However, you state that

"D:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server"

This folder does not exist on D: but does exist on c:

two solutions seem to exist

1) undo your reg mod
2) move (do not copy, move) the W4SBS to D: [DANGER]

Look, you've learnt a valuable lesson. SBS is a highly and tightly
integrated package. reg hacking SBS is not to be taken lightly. I reckon
that option 1 is less likely to cause you grief than 2.

The article you link to in another post

APPLIES TO
.Microsoft Office 97 Standard Edition
.Microsoft Office 95 Standard Edition
.Microsoft Office 95a

and you're surprised it's giving you grief when applied to SBS2003?
