Hi,
I have a SBS 2003 server with two NICs installed.
NIC1 has an IP Address of 10.0.1.5
NIC2 has an IP Address of 10.0.2.5
I have a router on NIC1 with an IP Address of 10.0.1.1
On NIC2 I have a wireless accesspoint with IP of 10.0.2.2.
A client's computer is setup as IP: 10.0.2.150 Gateway: 10.0.2.5
I can't get clients on the wireless network or the 10.0.2.0 side to
talk to the ADSL Router. The server itself can ping everything okay. I
have tried setting Routing and Remote Access, static routes, etc. But
no luck.
Is this possible to do in Routing and Remote Access? I would like
the 10.0.2.0 side to be able to talk to the adsl router so they can
browse the internet.
Thanks in advance.
Jim
JIm, the 10.0.0.0/8 address range would by default give you a netmask of
255.0.0.0
If that is in fact the netmask that you are using, the system thinks they
are on the same network. You need to make sure that netmask 255.255.255.0 is
in place on both of your NICs as well as in your DHCP scope. What was wrong
with the 192.168 range (except 192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.0.0/24 as those
generate problems down the line with default home VPN settings) ? :-)
