I think here's where you went wrong, the regedit of the 'Program Files' dir.
However, you state that
"D:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server"
This folder does not exist on D: but does exist on c:
two solutions seem to exist
1) undo your reg mod
2) move (do not copy, move) the W4SBS to D: [DANGER]
Look, you've learnt a valuable lesson. SBS is a highly and tightly
integrated package. reg hacking SBS is not to be taken lightly. I reckon
that option 1 is less likely to cause you grief than 2.
The article you link to in another post
APPLIES TO
..Microsoft Office 97 Standard Edition
..Microsoft Office 95 Standard Edition
..Microsoft Office 95a
and you're surprised it's giving you grief when applied to SBS2003?

Brandy hi!
Thanks again for the quick reply.
Some answers to your questions:
a. I am running SBS 2003 Standard (no ISA and SQL). I did not see an
option to download standard/premium SP1. I downloaded the SP from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B6F8A4C0-B707-4161-ADEB-44F1B756119F&displaylang=en
b. As most of the apps in the server management snap in, the monitoring
configuration wizard doesn't work when I click on it.
It just refreshes the page and does nothing. Trying to run any of the
tasks on the ToDo list acts the same (just doesn't seem to run
anything).
c. Trying to run it from http://localhost/monitoring does not work as
well. It seems like it starts the java but stops... No error message.
d. Yes, I can access the http://companyweb. The sharepoint works just
fine (So it seems).
e.I just recently installed this SBS 2003 server from scratch and
changed nothing ever since. The only difference from a regular server
is that I changed the program files folder to D: and the exchange DB
sits on a different partition as well.
f. I attached the error message. A similar message appears for other
tasks in the users pane. Trying to add a computer from the computers
pane refreshes the page and does nothing.
I want to add that I did change the "ProgramFilesDir" registry key in
LocalMachine to "D:\program files" instead of "C:\Program files"
Looking at the log file I can see failures such as:
[03/11/06,18:10:22] Licensing: [2] In PostInstall()
AddPermissionToPath()
failed to set ACLs on "D:\Program Files\Windows for Small Business
Server"
This folder does not exist on D: but does exist on c:
Maybe the installation uses the ProgramFilesDir property in order to
trace the folder?
Thanks,
Assaf Golan
