I have deployed a recent SBS server environment using the Tyan PX22
barebones which included the S2865G2NR motherboard. Using the dual-core AMD
Opteron, I haven't had any problems whatsoever. In fact, the installation
time to do it was much faster than on a dual Xeon server I had built by
Dell.
There is one note: If you consider getting the barebone kit, there is no 3
1/2" floppy space panel. You have to use a 5 1/4" space w/ 3 1/2" floppy
adapter kit. Other than that, the system screams and has alot of HD space
and plenty of room for future upgrades, etc.

I'm looking at an Asus server motherboard for our new server and Asus has
one that looks decent that has HyperTransport at 1Ghz. I also was looking
at a Tyan server motherboard that has 800Mhz for HyperTransport.
I'm wondering if I will notice a difference between the 800Mhz HT and the
1Ghz HT?
It's for SBS2K3 Prem. (won't be using SQL...at least in the foreseeable
future).
