outlook question and "Filter Applied" question

Hello all.

User has a pesonal folder and it's bolded. Also has a blue (1) next to it
but I don't see anything in it. On the top right of the pane while this
folder is open it says "Filter Applied" with a yellow folder next to it on
the right. The user says that suddenly when she puts emails in there they
dissappear. I can't replicate it. Anyone here have any ideas?
