Normally for recurring or regenerating tasks, you only see the reminder for
the current task. In other words, if you have a recurring task to do
something on the 23rd of every month, you should only be seeing the reminder
for March 23. That's assuming you've set a reminder for somewhere close to
the date of the task. You could still create a task with a reminder 22
weeks ahead, though, in which case when the recurrence is created, you'd
still get a reminder for the one 22 weeks out.
Other than user action or data corruption, I can't think of how you would
get a reminder for a task 22 weeks in the future. I'm assuming that the
user is marking the recurring or regenerating tasks as complete? (They
should do that, but failure to do it would account for a task 22 weeks past
due, not for a task due in 22 weeks). For recurring calendar appointments,
you can go in and edit a specific one, which could account for a reminder 22
weeks in the future. However, I'm not aware of any way to edit a specific
instance of a recurring or regenerating task.
If the newly created tasks work as expected, I'd just create new ones and
delete the old ones.

OK here's what I did
- Exported all task to a PST
- Deleted all the tasks and closed Outlook
- Open Outlook created some test Tasks with reminders some that are
already overdue and some set to next year
- Closed Outlook and opend it again
Its working fine, I imported the old tasks again but I just noticed
that a lot of those tasks that appears have "Recurrence" set I only
found two that has not got that set. Is this the default behavior of
"Recurrence" that it displays the task in the reminder window even if
it is due in 22 weeks?
