Re: Companyweb and Hosted Website?

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your update. I appreciate your time to the issue.

First please double check the IUSR_<ServerName> account, please ensure it
is matched with you SBS server name. You can check your server name like
this. Right click My Computer to open Properties page, under Computer Name
tab, you can see the computer name.

If the IUSR_<ServerName> account does not match with you server name,
please verify it in Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in by
Renaming the account. Then please change the account setting anywhere that
had enabled Anonymous access.

You can change the account settings in the Default Web site as follows:

1. Open IIS snap-in.
2. Go to Default Web Site, right click Properties to open Properties page.
4. Click Directory Security tab.
5. Click Edit under "Authentication and access control", please ensure
input the correct IUSR_<ServerName> account and password here.

Also please correct all IUSR_<ServerName> account where that had enabled
Anonymous access.

Then please run command "IISreset" (no quotation marks) to restart the IIS
service, then please try to access the OWA site, what is the result?

If the problem persists, please check the permissions on the Exchange
virtual directories:

a. On Exchange server 2003, open Exchange System Manager.
b. Expand Servers -> <servername> -> Protocols -> HTTP -> Exchange Virtual
Server.
c. Right click on Exchange virtual directory, and click properties. On
Access tab, make sure that the following permissions are granted:
- Read
- Write
- Script source access
- Directory browsing

d. Stop and restart IIS Admin service for the changes to take effect.

Then please test the issue to see if it helps.

Also please check the RWW site settings:

1. Open IIS snap-in.
2. Go to Default Web Site/Remote.
3. Right click Remote and click Properties.
4. Click Directory Security tab.
5. Click Edit under "Authentication and access control".
6. Make sure that the "Enable anonymous access" and "Integrated Windows
Authentication" have been checked.
7. Click Edit under "IP address and domain name restriction".
8. Make sure that "Granted access" has been selected.
9. Click Edit under "Secure communications".
10. Make sure that "Require secure channel (SSL)" and "Require 128-bit
encryption" have been checked.

For RWW, please also check the following settings:

1. Open ADU&C.
2. Go to Domain.local/MyBusiness/Users/SBSUsers.
3. In the right pane, right click the problematic user and click Properties.
4. Click Member Of tab.
5. Make sure that the "Remote Web Workplace Users" group is in the list.

Then please try to access RWW site, and let me know the result.

If the issue persists, please help me collect the IIS metabase and the
latest IIS log files further analyze.

1. To collect the IIS metabse on the SBS server box, please refer to the
following steps:

1). On SBS 2003 Server, install .NET Framework Version 1.1:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-
8157-034d1e7cf3a3&DisplayLang=en.

2). Install MBExplorer by installing IIS 6 Resource Kit Tools:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-
B628-ADE629C89499&displaylang=en.

3). Once it is installed, access it from Start, Programs, IIS Resources,
Metabase Explorer.
4). In the left pane, right click ''LM'' (under your server computer name)
to choose ''Export to file'', and then save it as IIS.mbk.
5). Compress this mbk file and send it to me for analysis. Please let me
know the password if you set on this iis mbk file.

2. Please reproduced the issue some times and then wait about 15 minutes
and then collect the IIS log on SBS Server.

3. Have you installed any third party applications on the server box?
Specially Anti-virus or Anti-spam application. If yes, please disable them
to test the issue again.

I appreciate your time.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Hi Jenny, no worries about the response time... I apprecaite all of your
help!

I did the password change but that didn't seem to work. One thing i di
dnotice was that the IUSR_<ServerName> didn't match my server's name. My
Server's name is Server where it says IUSR_DELL-OFV7446Y6N - This server is
a dell but i renamed it when i first configured the box. I'm not sure if
that may have something to do with it, but i don't want to just change that
name to match the server's name in this control pannel if there is a
prefered way to do it or if infact thsi isn't an issue.

I have attached the Log files as well as the requested screen shots.

Thanks again for all of your time and help.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your update.

I am sorry for the delayed response due to weekend. Please understand that
the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals to
answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!

For current situation, let us trouble shoot the OWA issue first:

From your description, I understand that you received error message '440
Authentication Timeout' page in IE when try to access OWA using URL:
http://localhost/exchange.

Based on my research, this issue can be caused by corrupt IUSR_account.
Please follow the steps to see if it helps.

1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in and select users
container.

2. Right-click IUSR_<servername> and click Reset Password.

3. Input a new password, confirm it and click OK.

4. Click Start, click Run, type "inetmgr" (without the quotation marks)
and
click OK.

5. Expand Web Sites, right-click Default Web Site and click Properties.

6. On the Directory Security tab, click Edit in the Authentication and
access control section.

7. Enter the new password, click OK twice.

8. Restart Default Web Site and have a test.

If the issue persists, please help gather the following information:

1. Please help me capture a screen shot of the error message when you
reproduced the issue. Also please expand the default web site of the IIS
console and take a screen shot of the default web site.

2. Please try to access the RWW site using URL: http://localhost/remote on
the SBS server box, what is the result? If failed, please let me know the
exact error message.

3. Please try to access the OWA site from some internal workstations using
URL: http://servername/exchange to test, what is the result?

4. Please send me the log files in the
"%systemroot%\system32\logfiles\W3SVC1" folder.

*Note that to gather the completed log, you will need to first Stop
Default
Web Site, copy out or zip the log, and then restart the Default Web Site.

I appreciate your time.

Have a nice day!

Hi Jenny,
I have just 1 NIC on the SBS Box.

http://internalIP/exchange yields "Page Cannot Be Found" error page

http://localhost/exchange yields a blank bage with "440 Login Timeout" in
plain black text

I Do not have ISA Installed.

I have one FQDN. I did create my own site in IIS but the wwwroot folder
under Default Web Site has my website files in it too. If i remember
correctly when i was trying to get the site online (this was my first IIS
hosting experience) i was having problems and tried many things to get it
to
work. One evidently deleting all the files under companyweb and replacing
with my website files.

I'd like to be able to get to the site by www.mydomain.com and then to
OWA
by mail.mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com/exchange

I emailed you my IPCONFIG / ALL info.

Thanks for all of your help.

Hi,

Thanks for your update.

For current situation, let us perform the following tests to isolate
the
issue:

1. How many network adapters you installed on the SBS server box?
Please
try to access the OWA using the URL: http://internalIP/exchange. Please
ensure that you use the internal IP address of the SBS server box and
then
test the issue, what is the result?

2. Please try to access the OWA using URL: http://localhost/exchange,
what
is the result? Tell me the exact error message when you reproduced the
issue.

3. Have you installed ISA server on the SBS server box? What is the
version?

4. Please help me collect IP reports by running command "ipconfig /all"
(no
quotation marks) and mail me for analyze. You can mail to my working
mailbox: v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

To publish OWA and your web site to internet issue:

1. How many public FQDN (that is required from ISP) you have?
2. Can I confirm with that you created your own web site in IIS not
under
the Default Web Site?

If you have two public FQDNs, you can publish the both web sites (the
default web site (OWA) and your own web site) to internet using host
headers. You can refer to the KB 324287 to configure.

324287 HOW TO: Use Host Header Names to Configure Multiple Web Sites in
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=324287

If you just have one public FQDN, and you want to access the both web
sites, you need create a virtual directory under the Default Web Site
and
publish them to internet. In this way, you need access your web sites
using
URL: http://publicFQDN/yourwebname

Please let me know if you have further question on the issue. I am
happy
to
be of assistance to you.

Jenny, thanks for the info. I ran the CEICW (Though I ran this last
week
when
another poster told me to do this in order to configure Excahnge
properly.
Last week the OWA box wasn't checked so i checked it. Today it was
already
checked when i got to that screen).
If i'm on the server and go to it's public ipaddress
http://192.168.1.83/excahnge i get a Page Can Not be found error.

I looked at the re-install company web article but that didn't address
OWA.
I really don't have a need for companyweb, i just thought they were
interrelated.

The directory that i blew away when first setting up ourwebsite was
the
wwwroot directory under inetpub. When i created the site i created a
new
website in IIS, so the default site is stil there (and running). I see
exchange is pointing to a virtual directory of
\\.\BackOfficeStorage\domainname.com\mbx

I haven't switched the DNS entry for our domain to thsi Ip address for
mail.domain.com as i wanted to get this up and running first. When i
do
that
though where do I point mail.domain.com to? Right now the domain.com
points
to my ip address.

Thanks for all help.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.

From your description, I understand the issue to be: you have
deleted
files
for Companyweb site and changed to your own web site files, now you
want
to
access OWA site and RWW (Remote Web Workspace). If I am off base,
please
don¡¯t hesitate to let me know.

Have you changed the virtual directories and web sites under the
Default
Web
Site? If not, you can access the OWA site and RWW site without
problem
even
there is no Companyweb site hosted in IIS server. If you want to
access
them
from internet, you need publish them to internet by running CEICW
wizard.
You can refer to below steps:

1. Expand Standard Management | To Do List.

2. Click Connect to the Internet in the right pane.

3. Navigate the wizard to Firewall and then select Enable
firewall.
In
the
next page, please ensure the items you want to published are checked
in
services configuration page.

4. Click Next and then select Allow access to the following web
site
services from the internet.

5. Make sure OWA (Outlook Web Access), RWW (Remote Web Workspace),
Companyweb be selected and click Next.

6. Click Create a new Web services certificate (input your FQDN as
the
web
server certificate) and then click Next.

7. Following the wizard to finish it.

If you have installed any hardware Firewall/Router outside the SBS
server
box, please ensure open the ports: 80,25,443,444,4125, then you can
access
the OWA using URL: https://publicFQDN/exchange, the RWW site using
URL:
http://publicFQDN/remote

*Important: you should backup the data under the companyweb site
directory
first before you reinstall the Companyweb site.

Q2) How do i setup IIS to have both OWA and the public website
accessible
from anywhere on the internet?

A: If you want to publish all web sites in Port 80 to internet and
there
is
only one publicFQDN that is required from ISP, you can publish your
public
web site by creating a virtual directory under the Default Web site.

If you want to publish your public web site using another public
FQDN,
you
can refer to the following article to process:
