Re: Cannot get access to router on SBS server

Have you done this?

"On the external NIC, point the DNS server setting to the IP of the SBS
server (192.168.100.10). The re-run CEICW and enter your ISP's DNS
nameserver IP(s) as "forwarders" on the appropriate screen."

If so, please post another ipconfig /all for the server.

You might also try diasbling RRAS and then re-running CEICW.

Firstly Thanks for your help

Then to answer your questions:
- Yes: The Internal NIC is displayed first in the list and both FnP and
Client/TCP checked. The External is second and only connected to TCP/IP
- This is a vanilla Standard SBS installation the only non MS product is a
product called DirectUpdate, which reflects the Dyanmic IP to ZoneEdit so
that my ActiveSync / OWA can work.
- I do have ISA but have not installed it since I want eveything working
first.

You need to get CEICW to complete properly. Review your physical network
configure against the diagram in the link in my last post.

Alos, recheck the bindings on your NICs...
---------------------------
Right click My Network Places...Properties. Highlight the Internal NIC.
Then
select Advanced...Advanced Settings from the top menu for that window.

The Internal NIC should be displayed first followed by the External NIC.
If
not, move the Internal NIC to the top of the list.
The Internal NIC should have File and Printer Sharing bound (check
marked)
to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The Internal NIC should have Client for Microsoft Networks bound (check
marked) to the TCP/IP Protocol.
The External NIC should be bound to TCP/IP only (no other protocols or
services).
---------------------------

Then navigate to: Program Files | Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server
| Support

Delete the file called Icwlog.txt. After that, re-run CEICW (which will
error out again). Select "direct broadband conection". Then open the
icwlog.txt, copy the text and post it so we can see the actual errors
recorded. The reason you first delete the file is that its contents are
cumulative (additive) each time you run CEICW. When you delete it, a new
file is created the next time CEICW is run and is specific to that run of
CEICW.

Is this SBS 2003 Premium or Standard?
Do you have any other 3rd party "firewall" software installed on the
server?

I did that I can rerun CECIW, but whether I enable or disable the
firewall
while the wizard is configuriung the networkconfiguration component it
fails.

Even if I disable the firewall and then try access the router
http://10.0.0.2 I cannot get access.

I then tried again but this time selected "A direct broadband
connection"
and the network config work, but with or with firewall I cannot get
through
to the router.

The strange thing for me is when I added the router (it is a DSL router
with
a 4 port hub) I could access the config page. I am going reboot both
router
and server, but I am not hopeful

I recently upgraded from a dialout device to a router (a generic
DSL
type).
I
reset up everything and email and surfin work, but I cannot get
into
the
server from outside. I assumed this was to do with the router I
tried
to
access it again (I have 2 network cards 1 - LAN and 2 - Internet
and
I
cannot
get to the IP. I have tried pinging it nothing, if I tracert I
see
the
traffic go trough the IP.

When I tried getting access to the local firewall settings I get
told
another device "IPNAT" is using it. How do I access this router?
