Hello Brian,
Thank you for posting back!
I am sorry to keep you waiting since I were ill these days.
I understand that the problematic computer is a Windows 2K client
workstation. In this case, please help me to gather following information
for research:
1> If you restart the problematic client workstation in to Safe Mode, will
this issue occur?
2> Please check whether the problematic client logs on any Terminal
Servers? If yes, please log it off the sessions, and then test the issue
again.
3> In your previous reply, you replied as "error copying profile........,
creating backup, your settings will not be save, contant your
administrator". I am sorry but I am still not clear what exact error
message you have encountered. Please type the error message word by word to
the Newsgroup for accurate research.
4> On the problematic client workstation, run "eventvwr" (without quotation
marks), right click Application, select "Save Log File As". Please save as
evt file and send it to my mailbox.
5> If you ask the problematic client to log on another good client
workstation, will this issue occur?
6> Please go to the %SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode\ and rename the
userenv.log, and help me to gather the latest userenv.log again.
Please make sure that you have input the correct DataValue for registry
key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value: UserEnvDebugLevel
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 10002 (Hex)
After you make this change, reproduce this problem after rebooting this
workstation. The log file is written to the
%SystemRoot%\Debug\UserMode\Userenv.log file.
For details, refer to the following MS KB article:

Windows

Please take your time to gather the information for research. If you have
any updates, please feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to
hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee

Our sbs2003 is the PDC; there a three w2k servers are BDC.
Lately the operators with roaming profiles do not get their profile at log
on, workstation does not matter, they are all w2kpro, but if they log off
then log on a second time, they get their profile loaded. Can it be thatthe
BDC's are the issue when users are not getting their profiles? Can it bemade
so that users ONLY LOG ON to the sbs2003 and not the BDCs?
