Re: OWA through RWW requires second log on

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hello Les,

Yup, i used the wizard only to create this user.

When we are challenged a second time for a login it's the full blown OWA
blue login screen not just the small windows dialogue.

Something odd i have noticed also, and i have no idea if it is related, all
the users have vanished from the users snap in in the server management
console (as well as client computers etc). This may be a seperate issue so
will require a new thread.

Regards

Paul

You used *only* the sbs wizard to create this user, right? (just checking).

When you're prompted for username and password, is it the OWA login screen,
or is it a 'windows challenge' (3 fields)?

When you enter the username and password in the OWA login - do you enter the
same one exactly as you did in the RWW login screen? Once you provide this
username/password, there is no problem, right?

Les,
I have created a new user and have the same issue.

As I recall - this has something to do with the login names and/or email
aliases not matching - which can happen if the user account and/or
mailbox
are created seperately (i.e. other than using the Add User Wizard), or
perhaps if changes are made manually after the wizard is run.

To see if this is the issue - in Standard Management | Users page - run
the
wizard to create a new user. Use the 'user' template. No need to set up a
computer.

From a workstation (or the server), run https://servername/remote, and
log
onto RWW as this new user. Try the link to OWA, does it work or are you
still required to enter a username and password.

The result will tell us if this is a user level issue, or a server level
issue.

Hi Cris,

Yes, when you have the RWW interface on the screen, you click on the
OWA
link and it then the OWA login screen appears and you have to login.

Are you saying that you have to authenicate just clicking on the link?

Thanks for the response, Frank. Yes i do understand i can get
straight
to
Exchange by using that method, but our users want to have the RWW
interface
so as to perform other tasks, i.e. remote desktop. Before i switched
LAN
cards, once you have logged in to RWW you could go straight to
Exchange
without further log in.

Any one help?

When users log onto RWW and select OWA a second request for logon
credentials appears. Before i changed my dual NIC adaptor for a
new
dual
NIC
adaptor, they only needed to log into RWW and the they could go
straight
to
OWA. Any ideas? I am running SBS2003 latest service pack with
isa2004.
