You don't need to uninstall SP2 - that won't remove the PC from the
domain. You need to explicitly disjoin the PC from the domain:

On the PC (NOT the server):

* Start | right-click My Computer | Properties
* On Computer Name tab, click Change
* Under Member Of, click Workgroup and provide a name
* Click OK as required and restart the PC

The PC should no longer be part of the domain.
