RE: Company web

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Sven,

Thanks for your update.

To narrow down the problem, would you please help me double confirm if you
have checked the following:

II. Please check in DNS and see if there is a CNAME alias for Companyweb in
the Forward lookup Zone.

1. On the SBS server, bring up the DNS console by running dnsmgmt.msc.
2. Expand ''Server name'' '' ''Forward Lookup Zones'' '' ''your domain
name'', is there a Alias (CNAME) record for companyweb in the right pane?
If so, ensure the ''FQDN for target host'' option is setting to the FQDN
name of your SBS server, such as sbs2k3.domain.local.

If so, please help me collect the following information:

1. Get ipconfig/all result on SBS and client computer.
2. Can you access companyweb if you right click Companyweb and select
Browse under IIS | Server name | Web Site?
3. Use nslookup utility to check the DNS record on SBS and client computer:

1) On the client workstation, open a command prompt.
2) Type ''nslookup companyweb'' (without the quotation marks) and press
Enter.
3) What is the result?

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Crina Li (MSFT)
