just as a bit of further when I was trying this with 64 bit Vista, I was
getting RPC issues, so it had to be driver issues for the 64 bit. 32bit
Vista connected just fine.

Cris,
Thank you for your reply. This is an OEM pre-install on a computer we
built
for our client. This is our first time using the x64 version of Windows
XP
Professional.
As long as I know that you can connect Windows XP Professional x64 to a
SBS
2003 network using http://server/conncetcomputer. I am going to use a
restore point prior to connecting to SBS 2003 and see if I am able to
connect
using connectcomputer.
If anyone has any other thoughts or know of a KB about this issue, please
post them. Thank you, Ed Podowski

Is this a machine you built? or did it come pre-installed with XP 64
bit?
I have a machine which came pre-installed with 64 bit XP and it has no
problem with running connectcomputer.
BUT
If I install beta product which is going to replace XP in the next year
or
so and do the 64 bit version...I get RPC errors when trying to
connectcomputer but if I do the 32 bit version of that beta, no problem,
connectcomputer works just fine.
Possible driver?

Hello Susan,
Do you ever sleep? :) You are always here. Come to think about it, I
guest
that makes me always here too. Thank you for responding.
What is SMB signing?
Thank you, Ed Podowski

SMB signing disabled by any chance?

We just built a great box running windows xp x64 and we are trying to
connect
to SBS 2003. At first we could connect, but received an error
message
that
said something like this profile operating system is not supported.
But
we
were connected. We used http://server/connectcomputer. I wanted to
reboot
to test connectivity and now I always get a message that says either
the
domain controller is not available or the user account was not found
when we
try to sign into the domain from this computer.
But when we sign on locally to the computer, we can type in
http://company
we and we are prompted for our user name and password which it
accepts.
The
company web page displays properly at that point.
Are there any KBs out there that discuss this issue? I did a search
but
was
unable to find any. Thank you, Ed Podowski
