Re: WARNING: Microsoft Update/ISA SP2 via RWW

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Actually you can do this via TS but you need to add your IP to Remote
Management. Apparently SP2 locks down ISA tighter. Before you update go to
Firewall Policy, Edit System Policy, Remote Management, Terminal Server,
From tab, Edit Remote Management Computers, Add your IP that you are coming
from, Apply.

Personally I wouldn't update to SP2 just yet until Microsoft fixes the
problems that it created. Another gothca, don't uninstall it remotely. It
asks for the ISA CD or I should say your SBS SP1 CD because from what I've
ran across, it apparently needs to take some files off the ISA SP1
installation. I started uninstalling SP2 from my clients and bumped into
this. The first one, I thought it was just that server but after that
happening 3 times on different clients, I decided to make an onsite visit
instead.
Oh the joy. :-)

I was updating an SBS 2003 server via Remote Web Workplace when I
saw ISA Server 2004 SP 2 coming down. I said to myself, "I hope I don't
lose
my connection when this installs." I did. Now I can't get back in. It
probably just needs a restart, but now I have to sweat it out until Monday
morning. Sigh.
