Re: POP3 Outlook Access sbs2003

The point is, if they have Outlook 2k3 on their workstations and are running
XP, they can use Outlook over the internet.

If that's no good for you, then I'll defer to someone who has experience
setting up SBS as a pop 3 server.

My users currently use OWA but some now require POP3.

Hi Ziguana,

Is this an SBS 2k3 server, and is your the workstation (remote, I
presume)
running XP? If so, there is a far, far better way :-). 'Outlook over the
Internet' - or RPC/HTTP.

If you run the Connect to the Internet Wizard, and elect to make this
available - then log onto Remote Web Workplace - there is a link there
that
contains specific instructions on how to set this up - it's customized
for
your server.

If there's a specific reason you want to use pop instead .... then sorry
this won't help.

Morning all, I have setup POP3 on my exhcnage server, all works fine,
can
telnet in to port 110 etc etc

When I try to setup outlook 2003 on my account, I put all the details
in
and
run the test it fails on the authentication, everything else works,
connects
to the POP3 Connects to the SMTP, sends a test email etc etc but just
won't
login, I have followed the below: -

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Email_Groupware/Exchange_Server/Q_21702387.html

I have tried every way of typing the username, I have checked the
aco***
has POP3 enabled under ADU&C exchange tasks etc etc I have checked I
has
full
security access to my aco***.

The last thing I tried was instead of logging into my account I logged
into
the Domain administrator, worked straight away, just used the username
administrator and the password and worked a dream, tried a few other
aco***
and they don't work... puzzeled, plz help if you can.

Thanks
