Well all I can say is that you both were a tremendous help. Thanks.
Obvious, and now I see that, a user that accesses the server in a regular
workstation with their credentials only gets logged off when the session its
closed because the server doesnt know if the user is still working
(obviously) so I'll have to instruct all the network users that if they dont
do this and someone gets their documents its their responsability (the ones
with critical data log in the domain). However this thread was very helpfull
to clear some aspects of this issue for me.
One more thing. The ABE application represents any potential security
problem?
Thanks

Hello Joa,
Thank you for posting back!
I understand that you have 120 client workstations, some of them have
joined the SBS 2K3 Domain, and the rest of them are just the normal
workgroup workstations. Your issue is, when you log in one normal
workstation (no SBS domain client workstation), type \\servername, and
input your own credential. After you finish using this workstation, the
other people can use your credential to access \\servername without being
asked for input their own credential.
If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
Thanks a lot for Lanwench's great input!
Joa, besides Lanwench's suggestions, I have following suggestions for you,
please see:
1. May I know whether you log of the workstation after use?
2. Do you use the Domain credential or local credential to log on the
workstation?
3. On the problematic workstation, open a command window, type "net use"
(without quotation marks). It will show you all the sessions.
4. Still on the problematic workstation, open a command window, type
"control userpasswords2" (without quotation marks). On the Advanced tab,
click Manage Passwords. You will see all the Stored User names and
Passwords. Clear them and test the issue again.
Please take your time to perform the steps. If you have any updates,
please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee

Thanks for the reply.
My network is from a school and we have about 120 computers. Almost all
computers are to be used in classes for a different number of studentsa
(about 600). Only about 20 computers are to be used each time by the same
person. I know that the best way is to made them login into the domain but
that is not possible at the time, financially speaking. So for the time
beeing this scenario has to work. I'm just trying to simplify the process
for the users. So in this case I was wondering if it was possible to have
way so that every time a user types the UNC path it appears a boxprompting
for the user and password.
(ABE - Access-based Enumeration and it was indicated by Brandi Nee in the
previous post but its not necessary for me to use)
Thanks
.
