RE: Outlook does not find name in addess list - exchange

Hi Erik,

Thanks for your detail information.

For the client workstion's OS is a non-English version, I suggest that you
contact the local CSS for support. And different versions may have
different issue and solutions and this newsgroup is for English version
support. The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get
the most dedicated pool of respondents, and other partners who the
newsgroups regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your
interaction with us. Also, this is to make sure that the responders can
better track the problem Thank you for your understanding.

Please visit our Worldwide sites support page and find support resources
that are provided. You can find your worldwide site here:
https://partner.microsoft.com/global/30000104

Additionally I would like to give you more suggestions about the issue:

1. Please try to create new user account on the affected workstation and
then try to configure Outlook to see if it helps. you can refer to the
below steps:

To open the User Accounts tool, open Control Panel from the Start menu, and
then double click User Accounts and then add an Administrator user account
(such as: AA ) here.

Then re-logon the workstation with the new user account (AA) and then
configure Outlook again, what is the result?

2. If the issue persists, I would like to suggest that you use detect and
repair feature to repair the Outlook. For detail steps please take a look
at the following KB articles:

How to install or repair and reinstall Office 2003 programs and features
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=821593

I am happy to be of assistance to you.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Dear Jenny
Using an older username, this name is found.
What i also found out is that when dreating a new user, and although
entering data for an email, the email adresses are not created (user
propertties tag - email adresses. Even if I then add an smtp adres at the
local domail xxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), the problem persists.
But again, when the new user cannot be found, another username (older) is
immedeately found.

Hi Erik,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup!

I am sorry for the delayed response due to weekend. Please understand
that
the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals
to
answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!

Before we go further, please kindly help me collect some information to
isolate the issue:

1. Where you received the error message when open Outlook in the new
client
workstation? Does the issue happen when you click "Check Name" button
during configure E-mail Accounts -> Exchange server settings. If yes,
please try to use another older user account to test, what is the
result?
If the issue persists, please follow below steps to try to resolve it:

Step 1: Check the client's setting
=============================
Please check the RPC_Binding_Order registry value on the machine.

The RPC_Binding_Order entry is created when you install the Outlook
client
or Exchange Server, and it determines the protocol sequence used to
communicate. You can find this entry in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider

By default, Rpc_Binding_Order contains the following value data:
ncalrpc,ncacn_ip_tcp,ncacn_spx,ncacn_np,netbios,ncacn_vns_spp.

Please move ncacn_ip_tcp to the first and test the effect.

Step 2: Restore missing RPC registry values
====================================
To restore missing RPC registry values on the client, please follow
these
steps.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system.
Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using
Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Rpc\ClientProtocols
Verify that all entries are present and correct by referring to the
following values.

By default, ClientProtocols contains the following entries for TCP/IP:

String Value Name Value data
----------------------------------
ncacn_np rpcrt4.dll
ncacn_ip_tcp rpcrt4.dll
ncadg_ip_udp rpcrt4.dll
ncacn_http rpcrt4.dll

4. If any values are missing, add the missing values. To do this, follow
these steps:
a. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
b. Type the name of the missing string value, and then press ENTER.
c. Press ENTER.
d. In the Edit String dialog box, type the missing value data in the
Value
data box, and then click OK.

5. Quit Registry Editor.
6. Restart the computer.
7. Test the issue again.

325930 How to troubleshoot connectivity issues that are caused by RPC
client protocol registry entries
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;325930

If the issue persists, please help me collect the following information:

2. What is the exact error message you received? Please help me collect
a
screen shot of the error message and mail it to my working mailbox:
v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

3. What is your mean of the sentence " if i llok up another user's
mailbox,
it is found. So i made another user and again the same problem. Old
users
mailboxes are fine but new don't show up anymore."? Can you describe me
more detail about your situation? Have you joined the new workstation to
domain? Where the new workstation locates? In LAN or from internet?

4. Please logon the new workstation, try to re-configure an email
profile
to test, what is the result?

5. Please logon the new workstation, try to configure an email profile
for
another user account which works fine in other workstation to test, what
is
the result?

Please refer to the following KB article to create a new user profile:

I appreciate your time!

I have just installed a new client, generated a new use. The client log
ons
fine to the network, but when i start outlook, it tells me that it
cannot
find the name of this user in de addres list. However, the active
directory
shows the new user and under the firtst administrative group i can see
the
mailbox of this user. And if i use remote work place, i can use the web
based
outlook and get connected to the mailbox.
The exchange servername is ok. Btw, if i llok up another user's
mailbox,
it
is found. So i made another user and again the same problem. Old users
mailboxes are fine but new don't show up anymore.
Anyone ?
