RE: Folder Redirection suddenly want to sync to "administrator"

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Jenny,

The computer also has problems with Outlook, meaning that it had trouble
with "send receive".

But now the problem is gone, and I didn't do anything - so I am hoping it
was a glitch

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.

For your description, I understand that a user failed to synchronize "My
documents" which is redirected to the SBS server box. If I am off base,
please don't hesitate to let me know.

Let"s do some test to try to trouble shoot the issue:

1. Please logon other workstation with the affected user account and then
logoff to see if the synchronization issue happens. If there is not
synchronize error message prompted, that indicates that the user profile in
the affected workstation is corrupted. You can create the user profile to
resolve the issue.

2. Please try to reinitialize the offline files cache of the problematic
computer to test.

1) Open Windows Explorer and the folder options. Under the Offline files
tab click the delete files button to delete cashed offline files.
2) Reboot the computer and try to synchronize data again to see if the
issue be fixed.

3. Try to use another user account logon to the computer to try to
synchronize My documents, what is the result?

4. Does the issue happen on another workstations or only the user account?

5. What is the exact error message when the issue happens? Please help me
capture a screen shot when you reproduced issue. You can paste the screen
shot in the newsgroup or mail to my working mailbox: v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

5. Did you install any new applications just before the issue occurs on the
workstation? Such as Anti-virus files, etc. if yes, please disable them to
test, what is the result?

I appreciate your time! I am happy to be of assistance to you and look
forward to your reply.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Hi

I have enabled "My Documents" redirection, with the SBS wizard. All was
well, but now a user complains that the sync fails on log off.

It turns out that it fails when trying to sync folders to the
administrator
account - but the user is logged in as a normal user.

I checked the GPO, and all looks fine, tried a "gpupdate /force" on the
client machine and rebooted. But it still fails

What could be the problem?
