When you run the Change server ip, is it okay to leave the subnet mask the
same as the external nic? both can be 255.255.255.0? or no? , cuz i'll try it
again

did all that and no go... no internet connection from the server. the only
way for the internet to work on the server is to have the dhcp services
running on the router. And I dod have it for both internal internet access
and it also supplies internet to a rental/ conference room. This is hard
because I also have a static ip from the ISP to put somewhere, and have it on
the router.

All adapters bound to dhcp adressess can not be released
ipconfig/ renew
dchp server can not be found
so that didn't work. I have tried to use the change server ip wizard, but
either i'm missing a step or it don't work.

You have a (2 NICs + router) network setup...
On the router...
Turn off the DHCP service (unless you have a real need for it for
devices that are directly attached to the router, like visiting laptops that
you do not want on your SBS network but who need Internet access )
On the external NIC (192.168.0.100) in the SBS server...
DHCP: set to Disabled
IP address: manually assign a static (private) IP address
(192.168.0.100)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: set to 192.168.0.1 (the LAN side of the router)
DNS server to: set to 192.168.1.103 (your SBS server internal NIC)
On the SBS server...
Re-run CEICW, enable the firewall, make selections and enter your ISP's
DNS nameservers as "Fowarders" on the appropriate screen (don't use UPNP if
it offers, "forward" the required ports manually in the router)
Then on a client workstation(s)... (shouldn't require a reboot, but wouldn't
hurt after you do these next steps)
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
Re-run ipconfig /all to make sure you're picking up a 192.168.1.x IP
address on the workstation

release/renew the ip address, look at network places, see the

cant
connect. No internet access either.
Okay so back at the server -no internet connection but can see the
internal
website. The external nic is set to auto get ip from router, but
the
primary
dns is the ip address of the local nic. When I change that to the
ip
of
the
router I can get internet on the server. Ran the CEICW... doh! The
wizard
poped up with that the router is a plug in play and it wanted to
configure
it. Now everything is so totally messed.
I cant get any clients to log in but when i set the ip on the
external
nic
back to the router ip, I can reach the remote server login page on
my
laptop.
I have ran the change server ip wizard, but nothing.
Please I need to have this whole thing back up and running by Mon.

so please give very deatiled instructions if ya got them. I have
been
going
on less than 3 hours sleep, and if you can come up with a less than
perfect
quick fix until next weekend, I am all ears.

Forgot to mention that the laptop can be pluggd in the switchbox,
not
have
acces to internet but still can connect to remote server login page.
The ip address was changed and now is 192.168.0.103 for the internal
nic.
The DHCP shows that ip address in the address pool
