More questions than answers...
SBS 2003 SP1?
ISA 2000 or ISA 2004?
2 NICs in the SBS server?
SBS server handling DHCP for the network?
Port 1723 and GRE Protocol forwarded (PPTP Passthrough) to external NIC on
SBS server?
Network configured per the following diagram...
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Articles/tabid/266/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/76/Two-Nics-a-static-IP-address-ISA-router.aspx
All connections are wired (not wireless)?
Any errors in the event logs for the remote computer and/or the server?
Can you VPN into the SBS server if you plug a laptop or spare workstation
into a port on the router and give it a static IP address in the same subnet
as the router, then give it the default gateway of the router?
Please post an ipconfig /all for the SBS server.

Win XP remote client computer ---> SBS server premium.
Both connected to the internet through NETGEAR DG834GT router/adsl
modem/vpn/firewall.
The server is setup for remote VPN access. The client computer AND user
are
registered in the users/computers/groups as Administrator and in remote
access policy.
A connection disk was created using SBS and installed on the remote
client.
The connection does not connect. says the server is not available or
security settings are incorrect.
Have turned off all security, firewalls (with the exception of the netgear
router firewall, which has been set to minimum security, DOS off etc and
always allow incoming VPN) STILL no connection.
Brought the remote computer to the server and connected dierectly through
the lan, started the remote connection software on the client and
immediately
got the remote log in screen. Told SBS to directly install all the
software
for remote access again (just to be sure) everything still works fine
locally.
Removed the client back to its remote location and the connection fails
again.
Im assuming this is a security/firewall/router issue but im not sure. Ive
used the SBS admin companion book to the letter without success, the SBS
user
guide without success, and downloaded many topics from this site from
other
users, all without success.
I am really stuck. And it is really important I get this connection
working.
All help would be appreciated.
