RE: Accessing other users inbox with OWA : works for some accounts only

Hello Xavier,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

I understand that you create a user and you want to view the other clients'
inboxes in OWA via this user's credential. If I have misunderstood your
issue, please let me know.

I suggest that you double check the instructions described in the KB 821897
to grant the user account you want it to be able to access other mailboxes
necessary permissions on your Exchange 2003 Server:

821897.KB.EN-US How to Assign Service Account Access to All Mailboxes in
Exchange Server
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;821897

After you grant a user account necessary permissions to all other mailboxes
as mentioned above, you may wait up to 15 minutes for the permissions
granted to take effect. Alternatively, you can reset cached permissions by
stopping and restarting all Exchange services, the IIS Admin Service, and
the Windows Management services.

If the issue persists after you perform all the steps above, please help me
to gather following information for further research:

1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers, expand to
Domain.local\MyBusiness\Users\SBSUsers. On the right pane, double click one
of the problematic user's account, On the Exchange Advanced tab, click
Mailbox Rights. Make sure you have appropriate permissions for this user's
mailbox. At least you need to have Read and Full Mailbox Access
permissions.

2. Can those problematic users access their inbox in OWA?

Hello,

I need to be able to access the inbox of my users via OWA. I created a
maintenance account for this purpose and gave this account full control on
the mailbox store.

When I start OWA with https://fqdn-of-my-server/exchange/some_user and
enter
the maintenance account credentials, I can access the inbox of some users
only. For some other users I do get a "The page cannot be found" message.

Does anyone know what's happening ?

Thanks,

Xavier
