Hello Henrik,

Thank you for posting back and keeping us updated!

In the ex060301.log, I found following error information:

2006-03-01 10:14:07 W3SVC4 192.168.32.10 GET /default.aspx - 80
DRUFVA\Administrator 192.168.32.10
Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.2;+SV1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322;+.
NET+CLR+2.0.50727) 404 2 1260

Error code 404.2 means Web service extension lockdown policy prevents this
request. Please see:

I need to confirm if you install .net framework 2.0 on your SBS Server. If
you have .net framework 2.0 installed, have you applied Windows SharePoint
Service 2.0?

=========

Please see my suggestion:

1> If you have .net framework 2.0 installed, you can either temporarily
switch to .net framework 1.0 or continue installing Windows SharePoint
Service 2.0:

a. To temporarily switch to .net framework 1.0:

Expand to Internet Information Services\Domain\Web Sites. Right click
Companyweb, go to Properties. On the ASP.NET tab, temporarily switch to
net framework 1.0. Click OK. Go to Start -> Run "iisreset" (without
quotation marks) and test the issue again.

b. You also can continue installing Windows SharePoint Service 2.0:

Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 2 (SP2)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9C552114-DC9A-43EE-
9281-B080B7C280B4&displaylang=en

2> If you do not have .net framework 2.0 installed, please re-register the
four .dll files and see how it goes:

Open a command window on the SBS Server, type following commands:

regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\60\isapi\_vti_adm\admin.dll
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\60\isapi\_vti_auth\author.dll
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\60\isapi\owssvr.dll
regsvr32 C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\60\isapi\shtml.dll

Open Internet Information Services\Domain\Web Service Extensions. On the
right pane, high light "Windows SharePoint Services", and click Prohibit.
Double click "Windows SharePoint Services", on the Required Files tab.
Remove the four .dll files. Click Add to add the four .dll files to the
list again. Run "iisreset".

3> Open the IIS management console, navigate to Web Sites->companyweb, are
there any folders/files within the companyweb site? Please also check if
the files/subfolders do exist in the c:\inetpub\companyweb folder.

4> Can you access http://companyweb/default.aspx on the SBS console?

Please take your time to perform the steps. If you have any updates, please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee

Hello Brandy!

Thank you for your answer!

You have understood my problem correctly, when I try to access the
Companyweb, I encounter error
404.

I have re-run the the CEICW several times.

Regarding incorrect directory security settings: my configuration is
exactly like the one you suggested except that "Enable anonymous
access" under "Authentication and access control" is not checked. But
is not checked in any of my SBS-installation and they work fine.

The 833019 hotfix couldn't be installed

The 832880 hotfix could be installed but it didn't help

=========

This is a newly installed server and I have never been able to access
companweb on this server, not form a client and not from the server
itself.

The error message is the standard one:

The page cannot be found

changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Regarding the servername change:
When I start installing the SBS and boot from the CD and I get to
choose partition and a little later I am asked for a computer name.
Here a name was chosen. When this "text-based" installation part is
finished the server boots up in windows mode. In this stage I cancel
the "continuing SBS setup" because I need to partition the other
disks and load some device drivers. When this is done I click the
"continued SBS-setup icon" on the desktop. Now in this
"continuing SBS setup guide" I am asked for a domain name and a
Server name... This is where I choose a different name than under the
"text-based" installation.

I suspect that this causes the problem, but I am not sure of this. The
Installation went thru without any error messages.

I cant access https://localhost/remote from the server

I can access https://localhost/exchange from the server

I am using SBS Standard Edition with SP1 included fom installations CD.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards Henrik
