Re: dhcp not working

well one would think they should be shipping Premium with SP1 which would be
ISA 2004. If you are under 30 days, I'd be calling Dell customer service

hi chris

external nic is plugged into the cable modem directly
then internal is plugged into a switch along with all the client pcs.

what is weird is dhcp shows in services as running , but no sign of it in
all programs etc..

question, if i just ordered this package from dell.. shouldnt i have
receivd
isa 2004 not isa 2000 ?

"Cris Hanna (SBS-MVP)" wrote:

in addition the DNS of the external nic is incorrect
it should only contain the IP address of the internal nic

And then re-run CEICW and of course DHCP needs to be installed

You do have the internal nic of the server and the workstations plugged
into their own switch and the cable modem is not plugged into that
switch,
right??

Hmmm... sounds like the DHCP service was never installed on the SBS
server. Not sure why. You should be able to manually install and
configure it. Then re-run CEICW.

So you have a straight cable modem and not a modem-router?
Can you post an ipconfig /all for the SBS server?

And your network is set up per the following diagram?
