Hi Steven,
Sorry - I posted twice by mistake.
To answer your questions, I started by creating a brand new user
1) - SMTP is not listed under the user... In fact, theres nothing.
When I go to First Org. -> Recipients -> Recipient Update Services, I
see what looks like a correct entry for the DC/domain/server Enterprise
configuration. Under its properties, update interval is set to Always Run
Under the Recipient Policies, there is the default Policy. this is what
Jenny Wu and Cliff Zhang has me edit before under the topic #32396948.
How should I proceed ?
The server is running SBS2003 SP1, but I'm not sure if it has exchange
SP2 (how do i check ?)

Hi Adrian,.
Thanks for posting here.
From your post, I understand that you created a new mailbox enable user.
When you use this user account to create user profile in the outlook, you
receive the following error message:
"The name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to a name in
the address list".
If I am off base, please feel free to let me know.
I truly understand the inconvenience you have encountered. However, based
on the current information, the issue may be occurred by many causes. And I
am afraid that I am not entirely clear about what the problem is. So please
provide me the following more details information about this issue:
1. Please check whether the SMTP address is successfully stamped on the
newly created user account in Active Directory. If no SMTP address, it may
indicate RUS (Recipient Update Service) doesn't work properly.
The Recipient Update Service is a component in the Exchange System
Attendant service. The Recipient Update Service creates and maintains
Exchange-specific attribute values in Active Directory.
2. Please send an email to the newly created user account and then verify
whether the new mailbox is created in the Mailbox Store this time.
3. Please check whether the newly created user is visible in the Global
Address List when logging in server through other existing mailbox in
Outlook.
4. Please confirm whether the issue consistently occurs on all new users
and all workstations?
5. Please provide the Application Event Log file, and send it to my work
address: v-stezhu@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
1.) Open Computer Management; click Event Viewer under System Tools.
2.) Right click Application Log and select Save Log file as¡
3.) Select path and type the name.
4.) Click Save.
6. Also I suggest you install Windows Small Business Server 2003 SP1 and
Exchange 2003 SP2.
Please let me know the above information so that I can provide further
assistance on this problem. I am looking forward to your reply.
Have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Steven Zhu
