RE: Problems joining pc's to server

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi Jason,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup. Also thanks for Russ's input.

From your description, I understand the issue to be: after the workstation
joined to domain, the homepage of the IE can not be updated. If I am off
base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Let us perform some tests to isolate the issue:

1. Please manually change the IE homepage to URL: http://compapyweb/ and
then re-open the IE to see if the change has been kept. The homepage
settings may be changed by some applications.

2. Please try to re-join the workstation to domain using connectcomputer
wizard, does the issue persist?

3. Please try to use another user account to logon the workstation to test
the issue, what is the result?

I appreciate your time! I am happy to be of assistance to you and look
forward to your reply!

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

Running SBS2003 SP1, Win XP SP2
Hi folks
I recently added a couple of new workstations as well as two new users to
the network. After upgrading to XP Pro, I went to the
http://server/connectcomputer and went through those steps.
My problem is that after login in with the particular user, in internet
explorer, the home page and links are not updated. When the user opens the
browser, it just has the default MSN search page. This is not what
happened
with my previous workstations.
What can I do to fix this?

Thanks.

Jason
