Susan,

Thanks for the reply. There is only one router between our LAN and the Internet. I do not know exactly how many may be between my remote users and our LAN. In regards to the patch, I read the KB898060 and it references another patch for the system (KB913446) that includes a link to patch MS06-007. Is this the patch you are referring to? I have downloaded it but have not yet applied it, I will await further instructions. Thank you for your help and patience.

Tony

What routers are between you and that and do you have this patch in place?

Installing security update MS05-019 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 may cause network connectivity between clients and servers to fail:

Hi all,

I have been following a thread from CSHerman beginning October 25, 2005. I have been having the exact same issues with RWW and users being disconnected while actively typing. Following is my setup.

SBS 2003 standard with SP1
Sharepoint Services with SP2 update

Workstations are XP Pro with SP2
- IE v6 with the pop-up blocker disabled

The exact problem I am having is this:

A user (from the internet) connects to RWW and logs in. The user (or administrator) then chooses to "Connect to Client Desktops". The user again logs in and begins working as if they were sitting at their desk. After a random period of time (my results have shown anywhere from 10 minutes to nearly an hour) the user is disconnected and the following message is displayed.

VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected
An internal error has occurred.

Clicking on the link for the "Main Menu" then displays the standard "Page cannot be displayed" message. Shutting down the browser and then restarting it and attempting to reconnect to the LAN using RWW will continue giving the user "The page cannot be displayed" message for about 5-10 minutes. After this time the user can now reconnect to the RWW and reconnect back to their desktop where they will find it in the exact same state that they left it in. Again after a random amount of time they will again be disconnected and blocked completely from the RWW only to start the whole cycle again.

I have tried using Remote Desktop from the Internet and directly bypassing RWW and have not had any disconnects (this I believe shows that it is not my router but rather an issue with RWW and Windows SBS 2003 server). I read in CSHerman's thread that he noticed that after installing Share Point Services SP2 update he was able to replicate the problem on other SBS 2003 servers. My question is has anyone been able to solve this issue. There seems to be quite a few of us having it (or something similar). Thanks in advance for any help/insight you can provide.

Tony
