Hi,
Thanks for your update.
As I know, Wins will do name resolution for Windows 98 etc version, if you
do not have this version of Windows, you will not need to enable Wins on
SBS. However, you need to select Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
Also please double check the following:
1. Deselect the following option on VPN client:
1) Open Windows explorer.
2) Click Tools and then select Folder Options.
3) Click View tab.
4) Deselect Use simple file sharing.
2. Please disable Windows Firewall.
If the problem still occurs, please help me collect the following
information:
1. When you click Connect to another computer on Computer Management, can
you click Browse to select the VPN client computer on SBS?
2. Can you access \\ip of VPN client?
3. What is the detailed error message when you connect to the VPN client
from SBS?
4. Please collect ipconfig/all, NetDiag and route print results on both
server and client as following:
Open a command prompt, type the following command:
''netdiag /v > c:\netdiag.txt'' (without the quotation marks) and press
Enter
"route print > c:\route.txt"
Ipconfig/all > c:\ipconfig
Attach these files to newsgroup.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)
