Re: Visual C ++ Runtime Library Errors on SBS 2003

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.

From your description, I understand the issue to be: you repeat received
Visual C ++ Runtime Library Errors on the SBS 2003 server box after
reinstalled all SBS 2003 services packs. If I am off base, please don't
hesitate to let me know.

The issue may occur if the ToDOlist is damaged, I would suggest we rerun
the integrated setup to reinstall the Server Tools to try to resolve the
issue. You may refer to the following steps:

1. Click Start, point to Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs.
2. Click Windows Small Business Server 2003 and click Change/Remove.
3. Go through the wizards until the Component Selection dialog box is
displayed.
4. Select Reinstall for Server Tools, and follow the wizard to finish
re-installation.
5. Run CEICW again and please test the issue again to see if it is resolved.

If the issue persists, please help me collect some information for further
analyze:

1. Please capture some screen shots when the VC ++ runtime library error
occurred and mail them to me for analyze.

2. Please save a text of the system and application error event log:

To save a text copy of Application /System log:

A. Open Event Viewer: Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools ->
Event Viewer.
B. Right-click on Application/System log and select "Save Log File As?".

Please add all files to a zip file and mail it to my working mailbox:
v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I appreciate your time!

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu

I have just reinstalled all of the service packs on a SBS 2003 server.
And now I keep recieving various VC ++ runtime erros for different .exe
programs. Everthing worked fine before but now I cannot get to the
remote web workplace. THe VC ++ errors just keep popping up for
various exe's...

Any thoughts on direction to take?? I installed all of the latest
patches and followed the correct sequence..

If you want to troubleshoot it - call PSS.
If you don't want to troubleshoot it - restore from backup. I usually take
this option.
