Jenny
Thanks for your response.
The instances SBSMonitoring and Sharepoint are on level SP4. However, the WSUS instance is on level SP3. The system is fully patched to latest revisions.
To update the WSUS instance to SP4, do I have to reapply (parts) of the SBS SP1 or is there another way?
Thanks and best regards
Franz

Hi Franz,
Thank you for posting here!
I am sorry for the delayed response due to weekend. Please understand that

answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!
From your description, I understand that you encountered some problem to
update WSS's instance. If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me
know.
The MSDE version that ships with Windows SharePoint Services is called as
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (Windows)-(WMSDE). WMSDE and has
no storage limits unlike MSDE. The instance of WMSDE installed can be used
only by WSS.
For your SBS server is standard version, you can not update the WMSDE
instance to SP4 individually. We can apply the whole SBS 2003 SP1 to apply
the Sharepoint 2.0 SP1 and the instance will be update to SP4 level.
For standard edition customers, the Standard Edition Service Pack 1 is
available as a free download. If you choose the download Service Pack 1,
you will need to allocate sufficient time to do so as the process includes
five separate downloads and may take considerable time, depending upon your
Internet speed.

The SBS 2003 standard/premium edition SP1 CD/DVD can be ordered via
internet. The order web site is:

Additionally you can refer to the following article to apply the SBS 2003
SP1:

Hope above information helps! I am happy to be of assistance to you and
look forward to your reply.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Jenny Wu

Hi
Can somebody clear up my mind? What is part off SBS2003 Standard?
Is it MSDE2000, or WMSDE(2000) .. or .. whats the differerence?
Tried to update with MSDE2000 SP4. Shavlik shows me that the WSUS instance
is not on SP4.
Is this correct? It askes for a 'secure password'.
Hmm .. never have been asked to set up a password for this. How should I
proceed ?
Thanks for your help.
Franz
