Re: Help - Stalled Swing Migration

Very odd. Have you tried configuring the 3 components seperately via the
CEICW? Have you applied ISA 2004 SP2 (shot in the dark here!)? In the
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Networking\ICW
folder there will be a load of icwdetails*.htm files. These contain the
configuration settings you have specified when running the CEICW. Do they
look OK? In the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\Support folder is the icwlog files. Any obvious errors in there? Have
you tried a Windows Update to update your NIC drivers (another shot in the
dark here!!)?

Everytime I've had a problem with the CEICW wizard it's been down to DHCP or
DNS. Clear your event logs and reboot; any errors?

As a side note, I concur with Jeff that this is nothing to do with the Swing
Migration.

Thanks for your reply N.

CEICW fails after filling in all the forms on the screen where is
actually
showing progress. These all fail:

Network Configuration
Firewall Configuration
Secure Web Configuration

Same error for all: "An error occurred while configuring a component.
To
continue with the Wizard and configure remaining components, click
OK,"

Email configuration completes without error.

The only way to successfully complete the wizard is to uninstall ISA
2004.
A reinstall of ISA 2004 launches the CEICW which completes without
error at
that time. Subsequent runs of CEICW give the original errors.

I have only found one unresolved reference to this issue from August
last
year in the windows server newsgroup:

Hi

I'm trying to finish a Swing Migration from SBS2000PE to SBS2003PE.
It
seemed to go
really smoothly untill I can to run the CEIW on the new server - and
it
just
fails. I've never had this wizard fail on me before. There's nothing
in
the
event log that's relevant and I include below the later part of the
ceiw
log.

This log follows a failure on the network configuration - I cancelled
the
remaining tasks (firewall & web certificate also fail - e-mail setup
works)
I think that it's the network failure that causes the other failures.

The hardware is fine and it seems that there may be a permission
problem.

I'm under the hammer a bit as the new server should be in use by
Monday am
so any clues would be appreciated.

This is exactly the issue I am facing.

Event logs are silent.

Extract of icwlog:

Error 0x80070057 returned from call to Reading the UPNP selection()

Error 0x1 returned from call to Setting the default gateway on the
external NIC()

Error 0x1 returned from call to RegisterMSBOExchangeBP()

Error 0xc0040393 returned from call to Saving ISA2k4 changes()

Error 0xc0040393 returned from call to CNetCommit::Common()

Error 0xc0040393 returned from call to CNetCommit::Commit()

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Bill
