Hi Bottle,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
From the description, I understand the issue to be: you want to exchangeinternal NIC and external NIC on SBS.
For this issue, I would like to give you some of my personal experience.
However, please make a full back of the server to prevent any future
disaster.
1. Disconnect the SBS server from the internet. We do so to ensure the
network security as there will be a period of time that the internal NIC is
connected external port.
2. Unplug the network cables on both NICs and connect the external NIC to
internal switch and connect the internal NIC to external Switch
3. Reconfigure the TCP/IP properties of the external and internal NIC.
Exchange their settings.
4. Re-run CEICW wizard and choose the correct network settings to reflect
the new configuration.
5. Confirm everything is fine on the network.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)

| I just purchased a new switch that has gigabyte ability. One of the
| NIC cards on my server is also gigabyte able. The problem is that it
| is currently my external nic (going to the router > internet). My
| internal NIC card of course is not gigabyte able. What are the
| potential problems if I switch them around? Is there a method I should
| follow? Thanks in advance.
