Re: Get disconnected using RWW

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

it is disconnecting while it is active....sometimes right in the process of
typing.

i am leaving it as public computer since i can't change the default that
comes up every time. It is happening on a wired computer.

What might be causing this?

Another question...I was just reading something on another post about the
max number of connections that one can have is 3 (0, 1, and 2). Is this the
max number you can have total on any computers or is this the max number that
you can have connected to an indiv computer at once or is it the max number
of connections to the server at one time?

Is it disconnecting while active, or after a period of inactivity? When you
log on, do you select 'I'm using a private computer?' instead of the default
'public computer'. ? The timeout values are different.

Do you use a wireless connection at home, or is it wired?

What's your router at home?

The answer is no, that's not normal.

up until now, our remote office (3 people/computers) people have used
pc
anywhere to take control of a PC in our home office. We both have high
speed
access (both of us have 768K). We are using sonicwall devices on both
ends
to create a VPN between the two offices. When the guys use PC
Anywhere, they
connect and almost never lose their connection (maybe once every other
day
they might lose it and have to reconnect).

I would like to get rid of PC Anywhere, and have them connect to the
computers via RWW (we just upgraded to SBS 2003 from SBS2000). I have
been
playing with RWW from home and the performance is very good in terms of
speed. I have comcast cable internet at home. My only problem is that
I
will get disconnected from my computer fairly often (maybe once an hour
if I
am using it constantly). This is fine for me....but would be
unacceptable
for my customer service people in our remote office.

Is it common to get disconnected once every few hours when using RWW
over
high speed connections? any suggestions?
