Hi, this problem has stumped me for a while. We are running two sbs
2003 servers, both with a nic for wan and a nic for lan. The wan ip
is a static public address and teh lan ips are 192.168.x.x The
problem is that after a day or so of running with both nics enabled,
all wan connectivity is lost, and it only returns when the lan card
is disabled. I've tried different nics, but since this problem is
happening on two machines, i think we must be missing something
somewhere, perhaps something we've overlooked along the way. Any
help with this matter woudl be great, can also provide more
infomation if needed.

Maybe look for event log errors ....and post an ipconfig /all from
the box in question.
PS: If you aren't using ISA, you really need to get a decent hardware
firewall appliance to stick between WAN and LAN.

First - you have DNS problems. You have to specify 192.168.9.150 (your SBS
LAN IP) for DNS on *both* NICs.....and *no* external DNS servers. Your
forwarders will take care of the external queries. Try re-running the
CEICW - it's supposed to do this for you by default.
AD relies heavily on DNS and if the latter isn't set up perfectly, expect
problems.
What's 192.168.9.50 / default gateway? I don't like dual NIC configurations
(esp. if you don't use ISA), so I'm not sure why your default gateway is set
the way it is.
I repeat my recommendation that you get a good firewall appliance.
thanks for you help, the other machine with the problem is 2k3 server, woudl
teh dns problem affect that also?
