No, there is no existing AD - this is a fresh install into a peer to peer

Our priorities were to get the file sharing working first (limited resources
(me & one other) stop us changing everything at once), then switch email
over to exchange sometime next week. I was hoping I could leave the existing
email system in place until then.
You don't say whether you have standard or premium, so I will say the
following assuming you are on standard:
1. Do the install on the 192.168.0.x network. The router will be
fine.
2. No need to introduce another NIC into the equasion - just leave it
with the one nic.
3. Disable the DHCP server on the router, ensure the SBS box is the
DHCP server. Ensure that all machines with fixed IP addresses are
pointing the DNS server at the SBS box not your router. In the
Internet connection setup, specify the router or the ISP DNS servers
as DNS forwarders (this does not change TCP IP properties on the
machine!). Go ahead with email setup - if using a POP dropbox, from
the ISP, don't specify it yet.
4. Install the clients using Connectcomputer, this should push
Outlook.
5. If you use SMTP delivery, you can then switch your port forwarding
in the router to use the Exchange server, then everyone is on
Exchange. OE settings can be imported into Outlook as required. If
using POP3, you can do the same when you wish to move people over to
Exchange - you can go back into the Internet connection wizard, and
specify the ISP POP3 settings in the system, and then move everyone
over, importing from OE as necessary.
HTH.
