Dear Customer,
Thank you for posting back!
I am sorry that I cannot find your tape drive in our Windows Server
Catalog. So please confirm with the tape drive vendor to make sure it works
compatible with Windows Server 2003.
Windows Server Catalog - Search Results for Sony AIT
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/server/default.aspx?subID=22&xslt=g
lobalsearch&qu=Sony+AIT&scope=1
Please see my suggestion:
1. Did Backup work correctly before? If yes, did you make any changes on
the SBS Server, recently?
2. Just to double confirm, do you enable the ''Circular Logging'',
differential or incremental backup?
3. I suggest that we manually run NTbackup to a local drive to see whether
this issue persists:
a. Click Start, click Run, type ntbackup, and then press Enter. The Backup
or Restore Wizard launches.
b. On the Welcome to the Backup or Restore Wizard page, click Advanced Mode.
c. Click the Backup tab. From the Job menu, choose Load Selections.
d. In the File Name box type %sbsprogramdir%\backup.
e. Click Small Business Backup Script.bks to select, and click Open.
f. Please choose your local drive as backup destination.
g. On the Backup tab, click Start Backup.
h. Can the problem be reproduced?
4. If step 3 fails, Please help to gather following log files for further
research. You can zip these files and send them as attachments to my
mailbox: v-branee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
a. Event Log: On the server, run "eventvwr" (without quotation marks),
check whether there are any errors. If yes, double click it, click the Copy
button and paste the full content to the Newsgroup.
b. The Backupxx.log files in the folder 'C:\Documents and Settings\SBS
Backup User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\NTBackup\data'.c. The Sbsbackuplog0x.log files which can be located
under the folder '%sbsprogramdir%\Support\Backup Logs'.
Please take your to time perform the steps and gather the information for
research. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
