Re: Sharepoint SQL upgrade

Thanks, yes that helps some, I wil try sp4. Yes I folowed the whitepaper so
SQL is on the C drive and the databases are not. Yes I selected to upgrade
the Sharepoint instance in both cases, it does not seem to have done so
however. How do I upgrade the Sharepoint database now? Thanks

Matt,

You probably will want to install SQL 2000 SP4 at this point. You can
download it from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=8E2DFC8D-C20E-4446-99A9-B7F0213F8BC5&displaylang=en

Depending on how/what you moved SQL itself may still be on the c: drive, but
the SharePoint databases may be elsewhere. For example if you followed the
steps in the whitepaper...

Just to be sure, that when you installed SQL you selected the option to
upgrade the SharePoint instance, correct? And when you were attempting to
apply the SQL 2000 SP you were selecting the same instance.

Which, if you have SBS 2003 Premium Edition you may want to order the SBS
2003 SP1 cds so that a) it would have SQL 2000 SP4 on cd and b) you'd get
ISA 2004 along with the rest of the service pack components that make up
SBS 2003 SP1.

Hi, I am attempting to upgrade the Sharepoint database following the
directions on the Premium CD5.
I have two problems
1)The installation of SQL2000 appeared to go fine, but when I attempt to
install sp3a I get an error the the Shairpoint instance alreeady has a
newer
servce pack installed so the operation is canceled.
2)I forgot that I moved the sharepoint database off of the c partition top
make space and it appears that the upgrade did not work because I did not
indicate the new location during the installation. So SQL is installed
but
the Sharepoint istance is not upgraded, any ideas on what I should do now?
Thanks for any help,
Matt
