Hi,
Based on the default gaetway, your clients seem to be going out to the
Internet directly bypassing the server (unless you have ISA in caching
mode).
The only thing they will be using the server for is name resolution.
So, the first thing that needs to be isolated is: Is name resolution
slow?
Once we can answer that question, then we can have a better idea of where
the problem might be (SBS/Network/Router/ISP/External DNS Servers/Etc).

Is the server also slow in browsing?
What forwarders do you have set in your DNS server? Can you test them
using
nslookup to make sure they are responding in time?
What happens if you switch the order of the forwaders in DNS or even
remove
them all together (and rely on the root hints)?

If you set up a test client to use the DNS servers of your ISP (instead
of
the SBS server), is browsing faster?

If ISA is indeed installed, make sure the clients are NOT set to use a
web
proxy to test. If the firewall client is installed, also disable it.

Damian
