RE: Received fax failure

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello David,

Thank you for posting back and keeping us updated!

David, I am sorry but from your reply, I am not sure what exact issue you
are experiencing now, because from your original issue description, I
though your issue was you cannot receive some faxes. Please help me to
confirm following information:

a. Can you successfully send all the faxes?

b. Can you successfully receive all the faxes?

c. Do you mean you cannot send or receive some of the faxes, but the number
of failed faxes shown in the Performance report does not match with the
number of the exact failed faxes you found in Event Viewer. Am I right?

In order to supplement your description, I need your help to gather the
following information:

1. Please explain in detail "When it does report an error, it will often
inflate the number of failed faxes, the number the email reports does not
correspond to errors in the event logs."

a. Please forward the "email reports" to my backup engineer Cliff at
junzhan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
b. Where did you find the "event logs"? Do you mean the Event Viewer?
c. If yes, please run "eventvwr" (without quotation marks), right click
Application, select Save log file as, please save as .evt file and send it
to Cliff.

2. Besides this issue, does the Monitoring and Reporting Component work OK?

3. Please collect the mssbsssr.log & dbaccess.log in the "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Support" folder for further
analysis.

David, I will be out of office from 26th Jan to 5th Feb, and I strongly
suggest that you reply back to our Newsgroup rather than my mailbox, so my
backup engineers will continue with you on this issue.

For your best convenience, I have pasted your thread web link below:
