RE: More POP3 Errors

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi David,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.

>From your description, I understand the issue to be: you received the 1036
error message is received when you retrieved mails from pop3 connector. If
I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

1036 is a failure to connect to POP3 server, either due to authentication
failure or network problem. The error code 10060 indicates that it should
be caused by network problem. If it is network problem, it could be
temporary.

Are you using any Linksys routers? We have several customers with the
Linksys BEFSR41 router having the same problem. I think your problem is
related to the MTU size on your router. You can contact the Router vendor
for support.
